Praying unto God, Who Answers our Prayers!

Praying Unto God, Who Answers our Prayers!

Matthew 26:40-41

[40]And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

[41]Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Romans 8:26-28

[26]Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

[27]And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

[28]And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Romans 15:30

[30]Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ’s sake, and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers to God for me;

Ephesians 6:18

[18]Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Colossians 1:9-17

[9]For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

[10]That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;

[11]Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness;

[12]Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light:

[13]Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

[14]In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

[15]Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:

[16]For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

[17]And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

1 Thessalonians 5:22-25

[22]Abstain from all appearance of evil.

[23]And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[24]Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.

[25]Brethren, pray for us.

Daniel 6:10

[10]Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.

Matthew 6:6-13

[6]But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

[7]But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

[8]Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

[9]After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

[10]Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.

[11]Give us this day our daily bread.

[12]And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

[13]And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory, For Ever. Amen.

Matthew 26:39-41

[39]And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.

[40]And he cometh unto the disciples, and findeth them asleep, and saith unto Peter, What, could ye not watch with me one hour?

[41]Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

Matthew 26:53

[53]Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?

Mark 11:22-26

[22]And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

[23]For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

[24]Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

[25]And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

[26]But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

John 14:12-18

[12]Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

[13]And whatsoever ye shall Ask In My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

[14]If ye shall ask any thing In My Name, I will do it.

[15]If ye love me, keep my commandments.

[16]And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

[17]Even The Spirit of Truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

[18]I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 16:25-27

[25]These things have I spoken unto you in proverbs: but the time cometh, when I shall no more speak unto you in proverbs, but I shall shew you plainly of the Father.

[26]At that day ye shall ask in My Name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you:

[27]For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

Luke 12:35-38

[35]Let your loins be girded about, and your lights burning;

[36]And ye yourselves like unto men that wait for their lord, when he will return from the wedding; that when he cometh and knocketh, they may open unto him immediately.

[37]Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

[38]And if he shall come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants.

(Gifts that are Spiritual, Praying in Tongues)

1 Corinthians 12:7-11,27-31

[7]But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal.

[8]For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

[9]To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;

[10]To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:

[11]But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.

[27]Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

[28]And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

[29]Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles?

[30]Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?

[31]But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a more excellent way.

1 Corinthians 14:1-40

[1]Follow after charity, and desire spiritual gifts, but rather that ye may prophesy.

[2]For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries.

[3]But he that prophesieth speaketh unto men to edification, and exhortation, and comfort.

[4]He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself; but he that prophesieth edifieth the church.

[5]I would that ye all spake with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied: for greater is he that prophesieth than he that speaketh with tongues, except he interpret, that the church may receive edifying.

[6]Now, brethren, if I come unto you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, except I shall speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophesying, or by doctrine?

[7]And even things without life giving sound, whether pipe or harp, except they give a distinction in the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?

[8]For if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself to the battle?

[9]So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.

[10]There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of them is without signification.

[11]Therefore if I know not the meaning of the voice, I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me.

[12]Even so ye, forasmuch as ye are zealous of spiritual gifts, seek that ye may excel to the edifying of the church.

[13]Wherefore let him that speaketh in an unknown tongue pray that he may interpret.

[14]For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful.

[15]What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.

[16]Else when thou shalt bless with the spirit, how shall he that occupieth the room of the unlearned say Amen at thy giving of thanks, seeing he understandeth not what thou sayest?

[17]For thou verily givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.

[18]I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all:

[19]Yet in the church I had rather speak five words with my understanding, that by my voice I might teach others also, than ten thousand words in an unknown tongue.

[20]Brethren, be not children in understanding: howbeit in malice be ye children, but in understanding be men.

[21]In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the Lord.

[22]Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

[23]If therefore the whole church be come together into one place, and all speak with tongues, and there come in those that are unlearned, or unbelievers, will they not say that ye are mad?

[24]But if all prophesy, and there come in one that believeth not, or one unlearned, he is convinced of all, he is judged of all:

[25]And thus are the secrets of his heart made manifest; and so falling down on his face he will worship God, and report that God is in you of a truth.

[26]How is it then, brethren? when ye come together, every one of you hath a psalm, hath a doctrine, hath a tongue, hath a revelation, hath an interpretation. Let all things be done unto edifying.

[27]If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.

[28]But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.

[29]Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge.

[30]If any thing be revealed to another that sitteth by, let the first hold his peace.

[31]For ye may all prophesy one by one, that all may learn, and all may be comforted.

[32]And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

[33]For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

[34]Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

[35]And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

[36]What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?

[37]If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.

[38]But if any man be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

[39]Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues.

[40]Let all things be done decently and in order.
