The Righteousness of God!

The Righteousness of God!

Genesis 7:1

[1]And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

Genesis 15:5-6

[5]And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be.

[6]And he believed in the LORD; and he counted it to him for righteousness.

Genesis 18:23-26

[23]And Abraham drew near, and said, Wilt thou also destroy the righteous with the wicked?

[24]Peradventure there be fifty righteous within the city: wilt thou also destroy and not spare the place for the fifty righteous that are therein?

[25]That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?

[26]And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.

Exodus 9:27

[27]And Pharaoh sent, and called for Moses and Aaron, and said unto them, I have sinned this time: the LORD is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.

Job 15:14-16

[14]What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?

[15]Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.

[16]How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?

Job 4:14-21

[14]Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones to shake.

[15]Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:

[16]It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,

[17]Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker?

[18]Behold, he put no trust in his servants; and his angels he charged with folly:

[19]How much less in them that dwell in houses of clay, whose foundation is in the dust, which are crushed before the moth?

[20]They are destroyed from morning to evening: they perish for ever without any regarding it.

[21]Doth not their excellency which is in them go away? they die, even without wisdom.

Job 27:1-10

[1]Moreover Job continued his parable, and said,

[2]As God liveth, who hath taken away my judgment; and the Almighty, who hath vexed my soul;

[3]All the while my breath is in me, and the spirit of God is in my nostrils;

[4]My lips shall not speak wickedness, nor my tongue utter deceit.

[5]God forbid that I should justify you: till I die I will not remove mine integrity from me.

[6]My righteousness I hold fast, and will not let it go: my heart shall not reproach me so long as I live.

[7]Let mine enemy be as the wicked, and he that riseth up against me as the unrighteous.

[8]For what is the hope of the hypocrite, though he hath gained, when God taketh away his soul?

[9]Will God hear his cry when trouble cometh upon him?

[10]Will he delight himself in the Almighty? will he always call upon God?

Psalms 1:1-6

[1]Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

[2]But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

[3]And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

[4]The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away.

[5]Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

[6]For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Psalms 4:3-5

[3]But know that the LORD hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when I call unto him.

[4]Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart upon your bed, and be still. Selah.

[5]Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in the LORD.

Psalms 5:7-12

[7]But as for me, I will come into thy house in the multitude of thy mercy: and in thy fear will I worship toward thy holy temple.

[8]Lead me, O LORD, in thy righteousness because of mine enemies; make thy way straight before my face.

[9]For there is no faithfulness in their mouth; their inward part is very wickedness; their throat is an open sepulchre; they flatter with their tongue.

[10]Destroy thou them, O God; let them fall by their own counsels; cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions; for they have rebelled against thee.

[11]But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

[12]For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Psalms 7:10-11

[10]My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.

[11]God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.

Psalms 11:5-7

[5]The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence his soul hateth.

[6]Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup.

[7]For the righteous LORD loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright.

Psalms 15:1-4

[1](A Psalm of David.) LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

[2]He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

[3]He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

[4]In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

Psalms 19:7-14

[7]The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.

[8]The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

[9]The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

[10]More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

[11]Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

[12]Who can understand his errors? cleanse thou me from secret faults.

[13]Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous sins; let them not have dominion over me: then shall I be upright, and I shall be innocent from the great transgression.

[14]Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.

Psalms 23:1-6

[1](A Psalm of David.) The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

[2]He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

[3]He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

[4]Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

[5]Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

[6]Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

Psalms 33:4-12

[4]For the word of the LORD is right; and all his works are done in truth.

[5]He loveth righteousness and judgment: the earth is full of the goodness of the LORD.

[6]By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth.

[7]He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses.

[8]Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.

[9]For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast.

[10]The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect.

[11]The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.

[12]Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

Psalms 34:7-22

[7]The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

[8]O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

[9]O fear the LORD, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.

[10]The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

[11]Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

[12]What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

[13]Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

[14]Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

[15]The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

[16]The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

[17]The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

[18]The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

[19]Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

[20]He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken.

[21]Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate.

[22]The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.

Psalms 37:1-6

[1](A Psalm of David.) Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

[2]For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

[3]Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

[4]Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

[5]Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

[6]And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

Psalms 37:16-17

[16]A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

[17]For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the LORD upholdeth the righteous.

Psalms 45:6-7

[6]Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.

[7]Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Psalms 55:22

[22]Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved.

Matthew 5:6

[6]Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Matthew 5:6,10

[6]Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

[10]Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness’ sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matthew 5:16-24,27-37,48

[16]Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

[17]Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

[18]For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

[19]Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

[20]For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

[21]Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

[22]But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

[23]Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee;

[24]Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

[27]Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery:

[28]But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.

[29]And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

[30]And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

[31]It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement:

[32]But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

[33]Again, ye have heard that it hath been said by them of old time, Thou shalt not forswear thyself, but shalt perform unto the Lord thine oaths:

[34]But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:

[35]Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

[36]Neither shalt thou swear by thy head, because thou canst not make one hair white or black.

[37]But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.

[48]Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 6:31-33

[31]Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?

[32](For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things.

[33]But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Matthew 23:24-28,33

[24]Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.

[25]Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.

[26]Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

[27]Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.

[28]Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

[33]Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

Luke 1:74-75

[74]That he would grant unto us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies might serve him without fear,

[75]In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.

John 7:16-18

[16]Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me.

[17]If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself.

[18]He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

John 7:24

[24]Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

Acts 17:29-32

[29]Forasmuch then as we are the offspring of God, we ought not to think that the Godhead is like unto gold, or silver, or stone, graven by art and man’s device.

[30]And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:

[31]Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.

[32]And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked: and others said, We will hear thee again of this matter. Romans 1:16-32

[16]For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

[17]For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

[18]For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;

[19]Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.

[20]For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:

[21]Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.

[22]Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,

[23]And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.

[24]Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

[25]Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

[26]For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

[27]And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

[28]And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

[29]Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,

[30]Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

[31]Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:

[32]Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Romans 2:5-16

[5]But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;

[6]Who will render to every man according to his deeds:

[7]To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:

[8]But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

[9]Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

[10]But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:

[11]For there is no respect of persons with God.

[12]For as many as have sinned without law shall also perish without law: and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

[13](For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.

[14]For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves:

[15]Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)

[16]In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Romans 3:21-28,31

[21]But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

[22]Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

[23]For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

[24]Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

[25]Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

[26]To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

[27]Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

[28]Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

[31]Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Romans 5:17-21

[17]For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.)

[18]Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

[19]For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

[20]Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound:

[21]That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:12-23

[12]Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

[13]Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

[14]For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

[15]What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid.

[16]Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?

[17]But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.

[18]Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

[19]I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.

[20]For when ye were the servants of sin, ye were free from righteousness.

[21]What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.

[22]But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.

[23]For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 8:1-16

[1]There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

[2]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

[3]For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

[4]That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

[5]For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

[6]For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

[7]Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

[8]So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

[9]But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

[10]And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

[11]But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.

[12]Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh.

[13]For if ye live after the flesh, ye shall die: but if ye through the Spirit do mortify the deeds of the body, ye shall live.

[14]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

[15]For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.

[16]The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God:

Romans 14:17

[17]For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.

1 Corinthians 1:26-31

[26]For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

[27]But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

[28]And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

[29]That no flesh should glory in his presence.

[30]But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption:

[31]That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.

Revelation 22:11-13

[11]He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

[12]And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

[13]I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.
