The Fear of God, is The Beginning of Wisdom!

(These are Scriptures to Study in order to learn, and to understand, The Truth of the Wisdom, of the fear of the Lord! for it is written!)

2 Corinthians 7:1 (KJV)

[1]Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Matthew 10:26-28

[26]Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

[27]What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

[28]And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Luke 1:49-50

[49]For he that is mighty hath done to me great things; and holy is his name.

[50]And his mercy is on them that fear him from generation to generation.

Luke 12:4-5

[4]And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do.

[5]But I will forewarn you whom ye

shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.

Revelation 19:4-6

[4]And the four and twenty elders and the four beasts fell down and worshipped God that sat on the throne, saying, Amen; Alleluia.

[5]And a voice came out of the throne, saying, Praise our God, all ye his servants, and ye that fear him, both small and great.

[6]And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of

mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth.

Exodus 18:21-22

[21]Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:

[22]And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with

thee.

Ecclesiastes 8:12-13

[12]Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:

[13]But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.

Acts 13:16-17

[16]Then Paul stood up, and beckoning with his hand said, Men of Israel, and ye that fear God, give audience.

[17]The God of this people of Israel chose our fathers, and exalted the people when they dwelt as strangers in the land of Egypt, and with an high arm brought he them out of it.

Tobit 4:21

[21]And fear not, my son, that we are made poor: for thou hast much wealth, if thou fear God, and depart from all sin, and do that which is pleasing in his sight.

Ecclesiasticus 15:13

[13]The Lord hateth all abomination; and they that fear God love it not.

Job 28:7-28

[7]There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture’s eye hath not seen:

[8]The lion’s whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it.

[9]He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots.

[10]He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing.

[11]He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light.

[12]But where shall wisdom be found?

and where is the place of understanding?

[13]Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living.

[14]The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me.

[15]It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof.

[16]It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire.

[17]The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall

not be for jewels of fine gold.

[18]No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies.

[19]The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold.

[20]Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding?

[21]Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air.

[22]Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears.

[23]God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof.

[24]For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven;

[25]To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure.

[26]When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder:

[27]Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out.

[28]And unto man he said, Behold, the

fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Psalms 19:9-11

[9]The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

[10]More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

[11]Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there

is great reward.

Psalms 34:11-19

[11]Come, ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

[12]What man is he that desireth life, and loveth many days, that he may see good?

[13]Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile.

[14]Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.

Psalms 111:10

[10]The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good

understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

[15]The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.

[16]The face of the LORD is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.

[17]The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.

[18]The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

[19]Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.

Proverbs 1:7

[7]The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:22-33

[22]How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?

[23]Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.

[24]Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded;

[25]But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof:

[26]I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;

[27]When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.

[28]Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:

[29]For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:

[30]They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.

[31]Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.

[32]For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.

[33]But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Proverbs 8:13-15

[13]The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

[14]Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.

[15]By me kings reign, and princes decree justice.

Proverbs 10:27

[27]The fear of the LORD prolongeth days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.

Proverbs 14:26-27,29

[26]In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

[27]The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

[29]He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

Proverbs 16:5-8

[5]Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

[6]By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.

[7]When a man’s ways please the LORD, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

[8]Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.

Proverbs 15:7,9,33

[7]The lips of the wise disperse knowledge: but the heart of the foolish doeth not so.

[9]The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.

[33]The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before

honour is humility.

Isaiah 11:2

[2]And the spirit of the LORD shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD;

Ecclesiasticus 1:21

[21]The fear of the Lord driveth away sins: and where it is present, it turneth away wrath.

Ecclesiasticus 19:18-20,24

[18]The fear of the Lord is the first step to be accepted of him, and wisdom obtaineth his love.

[19]The knowledge of the commandments of the Lord is the doctrine of life: and they that do things that please him shall receive the fruit of the tree of immortality.

[20]The fear of the Lord is all wisdom; and in all wisdom is the performance of the law, and the knowledge of his omnipotency.

[24]He that hath small understanding, and feareth God, is better than one that hath much wisdom, and transgresseth the law of the most High.

Ecclesiasticus 23:27-28

[27]And they that remain shall know

that there is nothing better than the fear of the Lord, and that there is nothing sweeter than to take heed unto the commandments of the Lord.

[28]It is great glory to follow the Lord, and to be received of him is long life.

Ecclesiasticus 25:12

[12]The fear of the Lord is the beginning of his love: and faith is the beginning of cleaving unto him.

Ecclesiasticus 40:26-27

[26]Riches and strength lift up the heart: but the fear of the Lord is above them both: there is no want in the fear of the Lord, and it needeth not to seek

help.

[27]The fear of the Lord is a fruitful garden, and covereth him above all glory.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
[13]Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
[14]For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
